Focus Mk1 rear wheel bearings

A motorway drive yesterday has definitely confirmed that I've done a rear bearing. I think it's only 1 side, but since both sides have been replaced, what suggestions are there before I ask my garage to do a replacement. Would it be worth getting new brake drums as the bearing sits inside them? Would ones from a breakers be a real no-no or just a waste time/money? Thanks, Martin J

Change as many or as few as you need, the bearing can be a seriously tight fit and definitely needs a press. Sometimes the shaft that the bearing goes on will be rusted and need replacement too. If drums with a bearing are not too expensive then a pair would be a sensible way to do the job, unless they are recent then the wheel cylinders would be a prudent item to change and very cheap. Brake linings are very long lived, so only change them if they look nearly worn out or if you put new drums on.
