How do I replace the power steeing fluid in the Focus? (diesel 1.8) It is "stiff" in one spot - when turning right it seems to be stiff in the first movement from centre then OK. I have looked at the fluid and it is completeley black! can I just suck whats out of the resovoir and refill?

to fully remove it you need to disconect the power steering pipe from the rack and let it drain out its self, reconnect & refill. turn the steering left to right with the engine running when the resevoir is full, it will help remove any air trapped in the system, the top back up.
