Focus Towbar Fitting (Electrics)

Hi

I have a 2008 mk2.5 Focus Saloon.

I have been fortunate enough to be given a small box trailer :-)

I now need a towbar and electrics. I have had a quick look at actually fitting the towbar itself and that all seems simple enough, especially with access to a ramp. The electrics are puzzling me a little more. As all i will be towing is trailers all i need is the plug for the indicators, lights, etc i.e. no need for "hotel" power.

Under the car behind the O/S foglight (which i have converted to a duel function fog/extra reversing light) there is a connector that appears to be plugged into a dummy and doing nothing. Is this a plug and play towbar electics socket or something else?

If it comes down to splicing and dicing i think i'll pay someone to fit it, or at least the electrics, but i'll be more than happy to plug and play :-)

Thanks

Tom

The fog light must have it's won illuminated switch so you might well find that is a no-no at MOT time. I'm sure others will know better than me though.

It has two bulbs in it, one red coloured, one white. It retains its function of a fog light too.... Just a bit washed out if you have the fog lamp and reverse selected. I suppose it could be failed, but theyll only notice if they try the fog lamps with reverse selected.

Unlikely given that I have shown the conversion to the MoT tester and he has copied it onto his own car!
