Ford Diesel

Having thrown even more money at Mondeo TDCi 115 having diesel pump and injectors replaced I now find that a few times when accelerating hard the engine begins to misfire and the glow plug light flashes. Turning ignition off and restarting engine cures the problem. Any ideas before I return to the garage who did the work.

Thought the TDCi was only 130 flavour? (earlier TDDi was 115) Anyhow, either its overboosting, or the fuel rail pressure sensor is up the spout. (or the pump is supplying too much pressure to the rail under full power)

They do do 115 TDCIs now, but it's odd that it's out of warranty, I thought all the 115 TDCIs were fairly new.

It's still a common problem.

have a pretty good lot posting, so go along and ask there.

If you do a search, it may even answer the question for you.

FWIW, IIRC, it's down to the injectors being out of calibration. Something that should have been done properly when they were fixed. It's a simple job, and they should be able to do it quickly, and probably for no fee either.

TDCi comes in 115 & 130 flavours. Sorry don't know what's wrong with yours though.

Nah as t'other guys have said, Ford sell TDCi 115s and 130s. When you see adverts, the 130 PS versions are called "TDCi (130)" for the most part.
