Ford Ka power steering rack leak

There's fluid around the rack where the hydraulis pipes enter, and on the chassis below it. The two hydraulic pipes from the pump can be moved, so I assume it's leaking from those. But, I can't see an easy way to get a spanner on to the unions to tighten them. The only possible way I can see is to remove the top pipe altogether, tighten the bottom one, then replace and tighten the top one, but even then, getting a spanner in seems to be very awkard? Is there an easier way? And if not, is there any bleeding needs to be done if the top pipe needs to be removed?

Well, the answer was to cut a slot in a ring spanner and grind it down until I could get it in, only to find the nuts are tight. Yet the pipes still move, so maybe they have rubber sealing washers behind them. Not that I am convinced of where it's leaking from as I've degreased the area and cleaned it all down, and after running it for a while, there's no sign of fluid anywhere. Looks like it's going to be one of those "leave it and see what develops" jobs.

Anyway, don't worry about me, I often talk to myself. :o)

Prolly same as fiestas I've done, the pipes are O ringed into the unions. Where the unions screw into the rack there are some thin plastic/ptfe rings around the top of the thread. I usually replace these rings and it cures the leak, the unions are available separately but the old ones wont come off.

Sounds like that's it. Is it much of a job? Apart from being awkward to get into the unions on the Ka?

Thanks.
