getting caught in criss-cross yellow lines

If you are tuning right at traffic lights, i understand you can proceed forward into the 'no-stopping' criss-cross yellow lines and wait on your side of the road before turning right until your way is clear to turn right.

What is the position if you are waiting in such a fashion to turn right and at the last minute an oncoming car on the other side of the road blocks you way over, then the camera catches you stuck in the criss-cross. Would you still be liable to a penalty?

You're still waiting to turn till your way is clear. So you can challenge it.

Yellow box "Do not enter unless exit is clear".

OK it was clear when you went in but the amount of oncoming traffic turning left filled it. You should have seen that traffic coming and not entered the box.

You'd probably get a ticket, as most councils are desperate for money these= days. However, the circumstance you describe has been used successfully as= a defence. Again, it would probably have to go to arbitration, as most cou= ncils are now rejecting appeals as a matter of policy.

... or on the other...

... whilst there is oncoming traffic blocking you.

That is precisely the circumstances allowed for when turning right.

Jeez..... grow up! How does he know all the oncoming traffic is turning left? Hell, it only takes one or two cars to turn left and block his exit if the traffic is heavy.
