We are planning to buy one of these automatic cars. Do you know of any issues with Renault Clio 1.2 Expression Q S5 or Peugeot 206 1.4 LX ?

Automatic Gearboxes + French Cars = Can of worms.
In a word, DON'T!

Avoid at all cost any Renault Autos!
The PSA auto's are more reliable, but not infallable.
If you must have an auto, a Micra NCVT is passable.
The only worthwhile buys are the Yaris or better still Honda Jazz 7CVT which are both *FAR* infront of the French Merdes Automatique.
