Help with 98 Corsa 1.4

May 15, 2004 1 Replies

Ive just bought a 98 Corsa 1.4cfi with 48k on the clock.

The car is ticking over at 800rpm and the whole car seems to be drumming, its not too bad but it is getting annoying. I though maybe a worn engine mount could cause this- what do you think?

Also the car seems abit hesitant at low revs. It feels like it has flat-spots and it happens below 2k when accelerating. Can anyone reccomend anything to check?

Thanks

I got a similar thing with mine at around 80k, it was the bushes? or somepart of the gear linkages worn, annoyed the hell out of me, was too expensive to sort iirc..

Incidentally just clipping the gear leaver onto the reverse bit, ( pull up the collar, and sit it onto the leg without it engaging just enough to stop it sitting in neutral), and the noise stopped in my case.
