The price they charge in DIY sheds is what they think is your bother level, i.e. time and petrol for finding alternatives; hence £2.99 is often the minimum ticket price you will see on anything. Sure enough, it doesn't really matter if you need only one packet of screws, but if you need ten packets, the difference begins to show.

I bought a gearlever spring for a Focus yesterday: 5.98 inc vat, for a small spring, if it had been a pound it would have been excessive.
From GSF I bought an electric window mechanism for a Peugeot:
73.50 which I thought was very reasonable (half the price of a genuine one), and about equal cost to a small bag of Ford springs.Methinks Ford are getting desperate for revenue and are skyrocketing the prices.
I got hit with that spring recently seemed high for what it was. Also a 1 litre bottle of ford power steering fluid £19!!! which to me is expensive.
I've been buying Ford parts from the US for some years. Recently I was stupid and broke two tail light lenses. Cost in the UK from Ford £120 each. Cost in the USA $30 each.
