Idiot query re: car small ads?

I'm on the lookout for a newer car, and regularly come across 'computer' listed in the spec/description, is this likely to be cruise control, or something else? Thanks Alan.

It's a trip computer that shows you such handy info as fuel consumption (miles per gallon both for the entire journey or an instant value - such as when going uphill and it drops to about 8mpg), how many miles you can do on the fuel left in the tank, and other good stuff.

I had a oldish BMW 325i the computer did (from memory):-

External temp + ice warning gong for speed limit warning Code to start the car fuel remaining in tank + low fuel warning miles expected at current engine settings clock, time and date maximum speed driven since last set Other things!!!

I'm sure the modern ones have much more.

They don't all do that. I'm breaking an old 325i and all the "computer" does is checks whether the lights and stuff still work. It looks fancy enough, but only has one button to press. Where's the fun in that?
