Is this windscreen faulty?

You *can* tint a 'screen - just to a maximum of 70% VLT - which is about what normal OEM tints are. Same as front side windows.

But most half-ways decent vehicles have tinted windscreens as standard!

What you can't do is add tinting film to a windscreen, or have a tint that reduces the visible light transmission to below 75%.

ITYM 75% for windscreens, and 70% for side windows.
