Jammed Hatch door on Modeo Estate

Has anyone any experience on freeing a jammed lock on a Modeo Estate boot, (R reg). The key goes in fine and there is no visible sign of any damage. I don't want to twist the key too hard for fear it will snap. From the inside, I have tried reaching in toward the mechanism with a screw driver with no luck.

Any ideas ?

Thanks

Dave

Some less than reputable people have found success by inserting a thick screw driver (a lot stronger than a key) and turning hard.

It would be worth trying to work some oil (like WD40) into the lock with a key first. Also if there is reasonable access from the inside you may be able to unscrew either the lock or the bar that it fastens on. Some types of lock can be released just by poking them in the right place.

If you've got another key, try that. The locks and keys sometimes get a bit worn.

That and apply gentle twisting effort as you slide the key in and out.
