Hi All,Not some Brit Iron Motorcycle club but the noisy rockers on my old 781300 Kent lump.It has been clattery for quite a while now and from memory this noisewas a combination of (mainly) wear or the tappet face and wear or therocker shaft / rocker itself.So, based on the thought that the rockers are already shagged andassuming I'm not building a race engine here, would be any point intrying to (MIG) weld up and carefully re-profile the rocker faces doyou think please?How long would it last do you think?If that idea is a non-starter, what are the alternatives just to makeit a bit quieter and allow better tappet adjustment please (I thinkit's gone past the thin feeler gauge solution and I can't justify anew Burton cam I'm afraid). ;-)All the best ..T i m

So you keep saying Duncan and whilst you may well be correct I *know* the rockers are also f*d from when I last adjusted them.

The point for right_now is rockers could be an easy job, the cam less so.

Fair enough. You can get them reprofiled for not much, but there where aftermarket ones, not as good as the OEM ones, but you can probably still find a set for not much, a full cam kit used to include them.

Ok, then that could be a solution.

And by 'not much' I'd like to think I could find re-profiled, rockers and shaft like I did cam and followers for the Sierra from eBay for £9 ;-)
