Using Wash'nWax as a wax?

For a quick wax on the car could you do the following or would it harm the paintwork?:

  1. Wash and rinse car.
  2. Using wet wash mitt, smear a lot of wash 'n wax over the car.
  3. Leave for 5 mins and then rinse off?

It would be OK, I believe.

But you could just buy the right product, Armorall make a wax jelly that is designed to go onto a wet car, it works very well and is very fast to apply.

Or use the wash & wax in step 2 as part of step 1.

Yes, use a lot! After all, it may cost £1500 a tub but they refill it for free.

Ah, but the paintwork should be as clean as possible before putting the 'wax' on!
