key fob replacement

Oct 05, 2005 3 Replies

Me again with my rover 416 GSi Auto. The car has an alarm but no key fob. I don't know what the kind of key fob it had so I'd like advice on what I could do to find a cheap replacement.

thanks.

You need to find which make/model alarm it is, then give the manufacturers/importers a ring. They will tell you if it is possible to do it yourself.I recently reprogrammed a new fob for a Autowatch immobilser, which cost around £25 iirc. Alan.

My wife used their reconditioning service a couple of weeks ago. Recommended. They say they can repair the Lucas fobs if they haven't been smashed to pieces or drowned. This one had got steadily weaker until it failed, and a new battery wouldn't revive it.
