Can somebody please tell me where I should spray the aircon deoderiser for a

1998 Megane. Is it somehwhere under the dash or someplace else?

Also, somebody told me that you can get deoderising 'bombs' for your air con - just let it off in the back of the car with all the windows shut and the air con on recycle for ten minutes and hey presto - sorted. I don't think you sit in the car at the same time!!!

Comma do a anti smelly/fungal/bactericide - £11.99 from halfords - as you say leave it in the car/ a.c full on and on recirculation

its worked for me - only prob - it left a sticky residue on the interior and need a clean of the steering wheel/glass / surfaces If you're a cheapskate you could probably do 2 cars - leave in 1 car for 5mins and then put in another car - thats what i'll do next yera

I guess you also know the general advice of have it on for 10 mins every week ( to stop seals from drying out ) and allow the fan to be on without the a/c for 10 mins so that the ssystem can dry out

Far cheaper and less messy is to run the air-con (not in re-circulate mode) and spray some Dettox into the air intake (probably under the wipers).

That seemed to work for me in my last car, although it did make the car smell of dettox room spray for a few days and it will coat your pollen filter in dettox so remove that first. Got rid of the smell.

Current car automatically runs the fan for 20mins at full after being stood for an hour when the aircon has been used in order to dry out the evaporator.

Is that the "Dettox multi surface cleaner"? I know it says it kills bacteria. Does it make it uninhabitable for mould/fungus? Or is there no problem with mould if you dry the AC every time you use it?
