Hi Girlfriend bought a merc 1 year old, now 2nd service due, and mercedes want £400 ( car has done just under 8k ) Anybody know

1 what that service will cover?
2 Suggested garages that will do the same, or have they to be specialists

Not much for the 400 quid I'm afraid. Main problem is MB dealers labour rate.

for a specialist near you, note that you lose your mobilo cover if you don't use main dealer at least every two years IIRC.

Mine will just go to a local trusted garage for basic servicing.
