Have managed to withdraw the bulb and its holder from the back of the headlight in situ and now have holder and bulb on about 5mm of moveable harness so very hard to feeel and see it. Question is I cant see how to remove the bulb from this little plastic highly breakable holder. Have tried pulling and twisting but not budging. Is this a standard bayonet fit, wedge or some sort of screw fitting?

Just pull the bulb straight out of its holder, its a standard capsule bulb.

Sorry I meant 'capless' bulb, but more or less the same thing.

Thanks for that finally pulled it out..bit tight for space to see what you are doing..
