I bought some ATE pads and discs today from euro car parts (well ordered online should be here tommorow) a lot cheaper than at GSF for similiar stuff.
Anyway I managed to change the fornt discs and pads not problem and was wondering if the rear will be the same ?
I was advised from a mechanically minded friend not to touch any nipples, just open the brake fluid resevoir and remove a bit of brake fluid, leaving the lid open to ease the pressure when pushing the piston back in very slowly whilst checking the brake fluid resevoir and removing fluid as nescessary.
I have a fear of introducing air into the brake system, also on this car you need VAG COM for some ABS bleeding ritual. So hopefully doing it his way will not cause any damage and I did do it that way when I did the fronts and no problems came about.
He did say buy a caliper rewind tool which I have for about £19 said it would make the job easier.
I have some brake cleaner, copper grase for the back of the pads and all the tools required according to haynes.
Just after any extra advice or tips on the mk4 golf ?
