We have an M reg Mondeo turbo diesel with a strange fault I think.. Occasionally when you go to start it and turn the key to the warm-up setting the thing appears like the battery is flat..but it is'nt. If you turn the key back again the radio comes on and the lights work. To get it started you have to put her in gear and push as if to jump start just a few feet, then you can turn the key and she will fire up! This only happens every now and then. Does anybody have any answers as to why this happens?

Might be a dodgy starter motor. Check the earth leads, they also have a problem where the end of the big cable to the starter comes off (at the starter), you can't see it as it is inside a plastic lump. The ignition switch melts internally too, I also had one in where the starter connection between switch and starter was broken somehow, I just bypassed it with an extra bit of wire. First thing is to see if hotwiring the starter spins it over, the connector is by the battery and will usually reach the positive battery terminal.
