starting fault RENAULT MEGANE

May 23, 2006 2 Replies

I have a T reg 1.4 MEGANE it appears to have developed an intermittant fault as far as it takes a lot of effort to start the latest episode was, turned off the engine filled up with petrol did not lock the car inserted the key turned on the ignition engine turns over but does not attempt to fire leave it for about 15 minutes and it starts. could this be an alarm fault?

hope someone can help

Try locking and unlocking the car with the keyfob before attempting to start it.

My son's megane fails to start sometimes and he says this always solves it. He is not technical and has never bothered to try to get of the root of the problem

Thanks for the advice, I did try that but it didn't seem to help, there appears to be a time element to the fault.
