Who says that they are an easy 10 min job?
It probably took me around 2 hrs, but that was including an engine flush, and warming the engine. If I had the a lift that mechanics have it would've been easier, but I had to turn the wheels and stretch my arm up behind the engine to remove the sump plug and the oil filter. It was pretty awkward!
My engine's had a nice flush now though, and has got some new Magnatec
10W40. btw, a metal plate in the throttle stop seemed to make it idle nicely, but there's no way I could've sat there for 15 mins with my foot on the pedal. My dad noticed that an ignition lead was resting on an engine lifting hook, and move the hook. When I drove the car after that, it felt much more torquey and didn't pink. It's started to pinking again though :-(. I think I'm going to try some performance leads!
