Looking to make sure I'm buying a good quality oil filter for a Toyota. But as usual Toyota parts seem quite expensive. Is it worth getting a Toyota oil filter, or are there equally good makes out there at a better price?.

Toyota filters are not ludicrously expensive and if a toyota dealer is close then get a genuine one.
Try Blueprint. Get all my Asian parts from them.

IME, more expensive. Often, VERY much more expensive.

If you buy a decent quality one (not a Chinese knock off) then they are probably all turned out on the same production line
Another quality check is to feel the weight - if lighter than genuine then there must be less paper in the filter.
