Not in a million years without tweaking. Even the RST is 7.2-ish with

160BHP. More like 9.3 for the XR3i with the 105PS engine.

Nope. It was a CVH and it was injected but it wasn't an XR3i engine.

Quick for the generation, well specified, tended to be looked after rather more than the equivalent XR3i. Not the most attractive of designs, the handling and ride compromise is from another era or so, most will be tat these days.

Plentiful parts available, not too bad on petrol or insurance, and most don't tend to be boy-racer'd up, since it's not cool to have a boot...
