previously damaged vehicles

Just been to see a car, advertised in our local paper.

It was previously involved in a minor shunt but I'm satisfied that it has been repaired to a high standard. The vehicle was subject to a VICafter repair.

My questions are will I encounter any problems insuring such a vehicle? Would my premium be the same as an un-crashed vehicle?

Roughly what percentage should I knock off the book price, based on the fact it has been repaired well?

If it wasn't written off then how's anyone to know?

HPC check?

I could be wrong but I think any accident that gets reported to the DVLA will stay on the cars history forever, regardless of any VIC check.

However it still won't affect your insurance premium.

I had a car which, during my ownership, got severely damaged but the insurance company, who paid the bill, did not raise the premiums. I don't see why they should, other than loss of a NCB.
