Could be, but I would try the alternative cos it has been discussed fairly comprehensively

There was a thread about this about a month ago.

Your symptoms are not totally those of the dreaded throttle body failure the Micra is prone to, but it sounds as it might be. On these the air mass meter is combined within the TB, and failure of this always results in either a stuck high, or stalling idle, and poor running at part throttle, worse when hot, although not usually stalling. However its usually always all the time, rather than intermittently.

I would first suggest you carefully check all the connections at the TB, and especially the coolant temp sensor- preferably get some readings from this when the fault is occuring and not occuring to rule it out. Also check the TB is clean, and that the linkage is not sticking and that you dont have any vacuum leaks that are opening up under certain circumstances.

I would also hook up the ignition system to a diagnostic machine just to satisfy yourself that the fault isnt being caused by a problem here- loss of power to the coil for instance.

Its important to check everything else you can before codemming the TB as used ones are very scarce about the scrappies for this reason and nissan want £400 for new ones. At the moment they are not reconditionable :(

Tim..
