In English please if you will. There's a good chap.
A small unbraked trailer with a lawnmower and some garden tools would be fine behind a polo 1.3, unless you intend to go up and down motorways all day or live in a very hilly area, in which case it would be a bit underpowered and underbraked.

Blimey, I once towed an 18 foot skiff with all masts, gear, sails etc behind my 1.6 golf (non-turbo) with 2 of my friends in the car. Your polo with trailer/mower etc will be fine!

Way back in 1963 I bought my first new car - an 850cc. mini (costing £515). I used to pull a Sprite 400 caravan (2-berth, 10ft. 6ins.) with that with no problems.
For some values of "no problems" I suspect:-)

I was rather impressed once when the local garage came to collect our works Landrover for a repair and towed it away with a Morris Minor. Ok, it was only about 400yds, but most of that was up a slight gradient.
The message from Willy Eckerslyke contains these words:
I towed a Transit behind an auto Metro once. Things were a little - slow.
This value maybe?
Nah. The Mini wouldn't have got it up the hill in the first place :-)

I towed a Bedford tk recovery truck using an escort van for about three miles, and it was up gentle hills !
But it is so much easier with a powerful heavy vehicle rather than a lightweight underpowered thing.
My old granada 2.8 auto estate was used for thousands of miles of towing a large car trailer plus stock car and spares and loads of people and was always a pleasure to drive and totally reliable.

My Carlton GSi 24v was used to tow an Alfa 75 on a big solid trailer.
Still outran the kevved up Nova at the lights... lol. Especially since I wasn't really trying, I just pulled off...
Beautiful towcar. Tons of torque at low revs. Proper old fashioned engine.
Instruction book upside down?
Yep, I giggled about the ironic peculiarity of the situation, but it was family!

We used to have a very heavily skimmed 1.5 Nissan Cherry that was far more pleasant to tow things with than the diesel LandRover.
