Rear disk caliper Nissan Primera 1998

The drivers side rear disk caliper has seized on my Primera - or rather the piston is sticking. I was quoted around £180 for a new one (I think it's an all in one unit) I'm looking to get one from a breakers (quoted £47) anyone know if this is a DIY job or better take it to the garage?

It's a diy job, it's a lot easier with a proper windback tool.

I haven't done it on my Primera, but certainly on older Nissans where calipers stuck, a careful disassembly and polishing the piston and bore up fixed them for a few years more use. The handbrake mechanism is actually more prone to sticking on the Primera, but it's part of the caliper and the workings are hidden inside the caliper anyway so little can be done, although I have heard of people fixing them with many applications of WD40 where the lever sticks out at the back.
