Scratched wing mirror perfect repair?

I have scratched the wing mirror on my car, I have touched it up with a touch up stick and laquer, it doesnt look too bad but I feel I could have got a better finish using a spray tin. I have purchased the correct colour code from the dealer but wondering if I can get an 'invisible' completion . Any tips on how I can improve the task or is it worth taking it to one of those scratch repair experts, I was quoted 35ukp Car is red non metallic if that helps...

Thanks in advance.

You need to flat it and do the whole mirror. Take it off the car.

Yeesh, sounds too much work,it has the indicators built in and lights in the mirror, as the car is very new , I may try and make a cardboard template to spray the mirror. Thanks for the reply...

On some cars the coloured part unclips and is replaceabe on its own. If so you could get a new one (although it may still need spraying) or spray the one you remove.

Usually the glass comes out first, then you can unclip the bit thatmost often gets damaged. It might be worth posting what car you have in case someone knows if this is possible.

It is a Mk5 Golf (Red) , the top must come off seperately as the bottom in clear plastic.
