If they're anything like the old Brit cars I drive, then those guages have a common feed running through a voltage stabiliser (or regulator, never can remember the term). Could be a wire fallen off, or the regulator's dead.

Drove home todayin my seat ibiza 1.4-m-reg and noticed the fuel and temp gauge not working,speedo and everything else works am i looking at a major job?any pointers appreciated

All I can suggest is RTF(W)M. It could be located on the board with the clocks, it could be mounted to teh dash chassis, on my later Triumph it's on the bulkhead next to the fusebox. It could be anywhere really, although if you find it easy enough to get the clocks out, it's worth looking there if there's nothing obvious under the bonnet. It should be a replaceable part though, I can't see it being soldered in or anything, at most a surface mounted socket on the dash PCB that it plugs into (like on later Minis).
Of course, it might not be the regulator anyway, but it's certainly worth trying it first :)
the clocks or would it be a case of following the wires,reason i ask is seat have told me that the clocks are all together so you carn't change an individual item and want 140quid just for the clocks so you see why im trying to find out a little myself. Many Thanks Si
