Skoda with blown turbo value

Took a while to decide on that number though :-)

Ugh. In the end that hurts ...

I had an old white C reg golf Mk2 which bellowed smoke and drank oil big time, really nice to drive otherwise - but in 1994 work gave me a new car, so this one had to go quick. It was not a tatty car, alloys wheels were OK, looked smart like the GTi but minus the engine. Number plate was a rare C two digit - three letter combo.

Next door neighbour bought it for tuppence. Me a fool. He gave it to his uncle who stripped the entire thing down and lovingly polished and rebuilt it.

I could have done the same but had no time and no garage space. Also I had a job. This fellow didn't.

That car is still on the road today. Gleaming.

I'm sad. I'm jealous...

I know thew feeling. Im selling my beloved high mileage Saab on ebay auction at the moment. No, this is not a 'commercial break' as such. I had this car since 1997 and maintained it extremely well, always fixed anything which didn't work.

The prospect of getting just hundred and two quid saddens me; this is just a tankful for my other car. I think the bits alone would fecth ten times as much. But I don't have room, and don't want to pay duties and insurance for two cars, so unfortunately the car has to go. Que sera sera. But I do feel robbed somehow. On the other hand, I made a good deal for getting the other car. Yeah, life evens out.

I'm happy about it, we love the replacement car and we didn't want the hassle of getting the car fixed. It's one if those things in the end.
