Hi all, this is a weird question, which is why I`m asking here before going to a garage :-)
Basically I`ve been given a new wheel, the tyre of which would fit on my car, the hub of which won`t fit on my car. My current spare is pretty bald - it`s legal, but I`d rather drive on a new tyre than one with the bare minimum of tread. I`d like to get the tyres taken off both wheels, and get the new tyre put on my old spare, get it balanced etc. I know I can pay to get this done, I was wondering what the value of the other wheel was? It`s the metal (not alloy) rim that is bolted onto the car, and the tyre is stuck onto it, to remove any confusion. Is it worth selling on? Is it worth trying to find a garage that would do the work for me in exchange for the wheel (and tyre, which would work as a spare wheel, you`d probably get a thousand or so miles on it before the tread wore down to be illegal), or is this a stupid idea?
Thanks all!
