Tax disc without a V5

Jun 09, 2014 2 Replies

I've just bought a bike but have no V5 yet as it's being changed over at DVLA. There is no tax disc on it.

Can I tax it either online or at the post office without the V5 (I have the insurance etc) and if so how?

I have the number plate authorisation certificate.

TIA

You've got the New Keeper slip, right? You know, the one that says on it "Give this to the new keeper" and "New keeper - you can tax the vehicle at a post office using this slip"
