MOMS indicates that your posting has a MOI (Muslim Offence Index) of

8.9.

MOMS suggests you revise to "What a caravan of Islamic pilgrims showing homage to the Prophet Mohammed (pbuh)."

Taken from the Liverpool Echo, 22nd December 2007 :-

Merseyside IT company CyberSys have developed a revolutionary new piece of software software designed to reduce the incidence of offence caused to religious faith groups. The software, called "Muslim Offence Mitigation System" - MOMS for short, has taken over three years to perfect and is predicted to take the world lead in this type of application. an a market predicted to be worth over =A34 billion per year.

Damian Wankstain, MD of CyberSys, explained that the technology behind the system is top-secret, but he was willing to divulge some of the details of how it works. "Basically, MOMS can analyse anything you throw at it - web-pages, images, audio and video files. It will scan the files and alert the license-holder to anything that may offend any faith group and then suggest any changes that may be necessary. In today's sensitive climate we feel that this type of application will become standard issue for all medium to large-sized companies and also major public bodies. The package comes with plug-ins for Islam and Scientology included, with others belief-systems available as optional extras."

In the past similar applications have been unable to deal with material that was not previously considered offensive. MOMS overcomes this shortcoming by maintaining an on-line data base of offence incidents that users can update should they find that they have inadvertently offended a religion. Recent updates include the Sudan school-teacher "Mohammed the teddy-bear" incident and the attempted assassination by Islamic extremists of bingo callers working at the allegedly blasphemous "Mecca" chain of bingo halls in the UK.
