V5C update on engine replacement

Jun 26, 2008 2 Replies

Hi,

I had an exchange engine fitted about a month ago and sent off my V5C to DVLA with the new engine number, a covering letter and the receipt from the garage that did the work as proof of the new engine number. It's still not come back after nearly four weeks.

Does anyone else have any experience of doing this and do you know what steps are involved in the process at DVLA? Normally DVLA processes things very quickly.

Thanks,

Tony

PS - Anyone else annoyed at having to pay £17.50 for a new photo driving licence just because the photo has expired after 10 years? My old paper licence ran until my 70th birthday and I'm only 37 so that's at least two more renewals I'll now have to do.

I dunno about your specific case, but the last couple of logbooks I've sent off have taken bloody ages..

6 weeks and still waiting for the one for the Jeep...

Hmm - that's not good. We're going abroad with the car soon and I'd rather have the V5C with us when we do that.
