Had a new Vauxhall Astra Twintop 1.9tdi a couple of weeks now though not very impressed with the fuel economy. The trip computer shows an average mpg of around 26 -27 around town though I would of expected much better, especially as the 1.9tdi Ford Galaxy we also have does around 30 - 35 mpg around town. Anybody else having similar poor fuel economy with Vauxhall tdi's?

Yes, my Signum 2.0dti (is yours a 1.9cdti?) was getting 42mpg because of a worn bearing causing the brakes to bind (getting hot wheel and squeaking brakes noise). Now it is fixed, I am getting 46mpg. I still have one more bearing to fix (waiting for VX to admit they have another faulty batch), hoping it will go back up to 48mpg that I got when I bought it.

cdti - yes it is, does that make a difference then?
