Hi,
My sister has a V-reg (IIRC) Corsa and she doesn't have a garage. She's had ten inches of snow so she decided to cover the car with a blanket. I've seen people cover their windscreens to stop them freezing but she lifted the bonnet to cover the engine. I've never heard of that; is it recommended?
Anyway, she put the blanket over the engine, closed the bonnet and now cannot open the bonnet to remove the blanket! I'm 100 miles away so I haven't seen it first hand but she says the lever in the car is loose. I'm wondering whether the blanket got wet and has frozen, or whether the blanket is thick and this caused some problem when the bonnet was closed.
How can she open the bonnet to remove the blanket? I'm guessing she can't drive the car to the garage in case the blanket gets hot and catches fire, so she'll have to be towed?
TIA
