Vectra Diesel Non Starter

Jan 14, 2006 3 Replies

My friend is telling me his 95 Vecta Diesel will not start and also the glow plug light isnt coming on just before you try and start the car. Its had some new Glow Plugs and a new battery, any ideas what could be wrong?

Thanks

the glow plugs don't come on till 5 degrees below. Probable trouble is the fuel spill pipes, replace them all and try again.

As others have said, try the fuel leak off pipes from the injectors (pull the end of where they join back into the main pipe near the injection, as that's the one that tends to perish first. Any sign of the pipe perishing there, renew the whole lot). Also the glow plugs don't work until it's pretty cold, but the glow plug light should still flash on and off when the ignition is first turned on.

Having just written that, I've had a thought. Is it one of the GM 2.0 or 2.2 diesels, or an isuzu 1.7? If it's the Isuzu, you can ignore the above.
