Volvo 440 Gear box Problem

Our Son has a G Reg 1.7 Turbo 440, which has just lost its 5th gear, is it a DIY job to fit another gearbox and if so what would be an approx time to do it in.

If you're good, yes. These are probably one of the hardest gearbox I ever had to remove. The rear mounting is *really* good fun!
