Hiya i have just purchased a kitcar that hasnot been started for aabout
12months what should i check for the handbrake was left off and the brakes seem to work on rolling it and the handbrake holds and releases okay but engine wise any poblem area's ??? it is based on a XR2 fiesta (old X Reg) it has been garaged and away from the damp any help advice appreciatedYoda out
The petrol (if there was any left) is probably toast by now, so you may want to drain & re-fill.
Change the oil & filter.
I've heard some say to remove the spark plug leads, disconnect the fuel pump relay (or do something similar to stop fuel getting into the cylinders), squirt a little oil into each bore, and then turn it over until the oil pressure light goes out.
Re-fit plugs, leads & fuel pump, and turn it over.
If you search google groups, the question has been asked before, and someone gave some _very_ good advice.
