Thank you Mr cheerful ill check the things you suggested. And to all the morons who have the ability to type perfectly , remember when you started to first use a keyboard i bet you were all perfect. personally when i see someone asking for help i generally try to give it, i don't spend my time trying to undermine or ridicule that person.

It's more likely that the linkage has slipped on the motor spindle
John
From OP:
"...when in normal wiping mode they work fine at all three speeds..."
Chris
and they stop at differant places on the screen when turned off?
well the sun is out today. so i am going to remove the cover over the moter and see if i can find which wire is meant to be live all the time the ignition is on.
wish me luck im going to need it :-)
Yep. If they work properly on all three speeds, but don't park, then it's most unlikely to be the linkage.
Of course, if they sometimes didn't sweep the normal wiped area, *and* didn't park, the linkage may well be a suspect.
Chris
Good luck; you are going to need a multi-meter or test lamp as well!
Chris
yep, :) i have a multi meter for jobs like this :)
