My Dad's XJ8 has started having troubles with poor remote range and intermittent unlocking / locking. It's a W reg, and changing the batteries hasn't helped, however one remote seems to work a bit better than the other. Any ideas?

any new transmitters gone up recently?
Faulty aerial bit.
Nope.
Something tells me that won't be an easy fix.
It's probably the one in the transmitter, so unless you fancy opening it up getting another one's the only practical option.
Aren't these sorts of things just printed onto the PCB? I can't really see how that'd go wrong...
You drop the transmitter & it's the longest track so it cracks. Or the inside gets damp & corrodes.
