assembly of 95 block

Feb 11, 2009 1 Replies

Hmmm,

I have had my short block back from the shop for almost 4 weeks now and finally getting to it, (too cold, vacation, adla syndrome [AttentionDeficiateLazyAss]), and I have a couple questions already.

- I have dup's on several gaskets/seals and I wonder if there is a way to determine if one is better than another?

- what is the recommended type of sealer to use for the various covers, oil pan etc? blue permatex? RTV?

TIA,

peter

Choosing one over another (on duplicates), I'd say look / feel and proceed. I guess if you know of one being old, that would be a negative (sitting around in humid air).

I think the Blue Permatex is what I've used for valve cover gasket.
