reading up on the engine removal, the factory manual "says" to remove tranny, (from under carrage), and then procede w/ engine removal. can they be extracted as a unit from the top? is it really necesary to drop the ppf?
thanks, peter

Yes, the engine and tranny can be removed from the top. Yes, you will need to disconnect the PPF from the tranny and partially from the rear end so that it can be pushed aside. No, you do not need to remove the saddle. Yes, you should remove the coil assembly from the rear of the engine before you start disconnecting things underneath.
er, what the saddle?!?! one of the 17mm bolts on the back of the ppf is being a pita.
that looks like fun...whats the trick to pull the coil pack?
it looked loke the saddle might want to come out but the manual didnt metion it, (at least not yet :) i already squashed one of the heater core tubes...doh!
