Bought a used 99 top with frame for the miata. Someone else installed it. It doesn't sit properly. It is shifted towards the drivers side and almost impossible to latch.
Was it installed wrong. The installer said it was a bent bar. Could he be correct?

Yes. The accident that put the top on the market may also have bent it.

Seems I remember there are some connections that have to be left loose until everything is aligned. IIRC when they are tightened too early in the process things might seem to misalign.
