Removing the dash

Jan 12, 2004 2 Replies

I have a leaky heater core in the '90 B. The shop manual tells me that the way to the core is to remove the dash.

Has anyone done this; how big a job is it? Any particular gotchas that the book doesn't mention?

Thanks in advance,

Ken

Hello,

You don't have to remove the dash.

I did it as recommended in this posting...

Thanks, Cliff.

Some good news: I removed the access panel and found that the heater core was fine. I was somewhat suspicious as I did not see any liquid soaking the interior, but did smell coolant when I heated the car. Further investigation revealed the issue to be elsewhere (and easily accessible).

Thanks, once again, for excellent help from this newsgroup.

Ken
