my merc has an intermitant fault when starting. i have noticed this is nearly always when it is cold. can anyone shed light on this problem.

my merc has an intermitant fault when starting. i have noticed this is nearly always when it is cold. can anyone shed light on this problem.
Could you be more accurate with the fault description. Do you get any error messages? Glow plugs ok? Are you using appropriate diesel for the cold season?
