We went back to the dealer because he wanted to see our '95 318ti for possible personal purchase and my wife inquired about adding a CD changer to the back of the S. She selected the cassette deck/Radio combination and thought adding the CD changer was a good idea. I agreed. The dealer wants $592 for the changer with an additional $170 for installation (the car is prewired). I think that is a rip off and will check with Circuit City, etc. to see if there is an alternative.
Any feedback??
The dealer did say he would do the Christian thing and see if an after market installer could do it cheaper. On the other hand he wanted the 95ti first for a Christian group he is affiliated with and then he said it would be a perfect car for his daughter. He offered $4000 even though he said the low blue book was over $5800. Started telling us the repairs were going to start coming and it was very expensive to repair BMWs (keep in mind the mini dealership is an extension of the BMW dealership next door and he has used BMWs on the lot - bet he doesn't tell that to potential customers). For that price it stays in our garage because prices range anywhere from $6500 (private party) - $9900 (dealer has one listed that has 50k MORE miles than ours). My wife thought he was friendly. I told her a born again Christian who is also a car dealer - don't get more back-slapping than that.
