Pricing and Dealer Fees?

I'm getting quoted MSRP plus a dealer fee of 595.

From some of the reading I've done, MSRP seems to be standard on an ordered car. Is the fee un-avoidable as well? Or do I have to shop in another state and see what comes up? I'm in WA.

Thanks,

In Southern California - the "dealer markup" was about $3995. That was 6 months ago - it included a 4th year of maintenance, floor mats, and a Teflon wax job. It was easy to say "no" to much of it but still end up with a mark-up of "only" $400 or $500 - including floor mats.

Last time I looked at the dealer add-on, it was down to $2995 (maybe less, I don't recall).

I'll bet if you stick to your guns, I suspect you can get MSRP for a custom order. You wait 6 to 8 weeks, but get exactly what you want.

The fact that the MINI is still selling out says something about the supply and demand, however, a lot have been sold, and many buyers come back later and decide the car is too small for their needs. I think the market is "down".

I like my Mini and highly recommend ordering exactly what you want - colors, options, etc.

Good luck and happy motoring.
