Blew my factory turbo today at 153,200 mi. '91 talon TDO4H (smaller turbo & ex. man. than maual trans. model)
Questions:
1) For the time being is it ok to run car even though the talpipe is smoking from the burnt turbo? How bad will gas mileage suffer? Will engine suffer?
2) Recomended places to buy a newTDO4 and ex. man.? (other than dealer)
3) Mating a TDO4 to the bigger 1g ex. man.? Will the turbo spool up slower? Will I lose much on the low end? Any downside to doing this?
4) Going to the stock TDO5H with the bigger ex. man.? How will this chamge the dynamics of the spool-up time? Will it spool-up slower and come on stronger at higher rpms?
5) What is the advantage of having a ported turbo and where is it ported?
I'm definately leaning towards getting another TDO4 because it spools- up faster than the TDO5 but I think I need to go to the bigger 1g manifold because I was running 12psi vs 10 stock and was getting too much back pressure ( I think)
